Winter Sun 10K

FAQs

What time does the race start?
10:00 am, MDT

I got injured/pregnant/called out of town unexpectedly/stuck at home because of weather and can’t make the race. Can I have a refund?
We have a strict NO REFUND policy. Once you have registered you will be charged and refunds are not an option. You are welcome to pickup your goody bag and race shirt, or have a friend pick those items up, if you are not running.

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.

Then can I just give my bib to someone else?
Running with someone else’s bib number is: a safety and liability issue for race staff and medical personnel; unfair to those who didn’t get to sign up before registration closed; and alters race results, sometimes depriving a deserving award winner of their medal. Anyone running under an incorrect number will be disqualified from the race and may be banned from MHM events.

Where and when do I pick up my packet?
Packet Pickup is at the Grand County High School cafeteria.
You can pick up your packet between 5 and 7 pm on Friday; 8:15 and 9:30 am on Saturday.
Be sure to look up your bib number outside the cafeteria and bring a photo ID to get your race packet!

Do I have to take a shuttle to the start?
No—you can park at the Moab Golf Club. Parking is limited so we recommend carpooling or drop off. There is NO POST RACE SHUTTLE.

Where and when do I catch a shuttle to the start?
Shuttles depart at 8:30 am on Saturday from the front of the Grand County High School.

Can I wear earbuds/headphones?
We strongly discourage the use of earbuds or headphones, as the COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC.

Where are the aid stations and what will they have?
There is an aid station at mile 3 with water and Gatorade Endurance Formula.

Are strollers allowed?
Strollers, baby joggers etc. are allowed on the course. Double strollers will not fit through the chute near the finish. If you run with a double stroller, plan to have someone meet you at the start of the chute so you can leave the stroller to finish the race. If you plan to participate with any of these items, you must position yourself at the very back of the pack at the race start.

Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed provided they are on leash and under your control at all times. You must start at the very back of the start pack and ensure your dog doesn’t interfere with other participants.  The race committee has looked at banning dogs due to complaints; please contribute to a positive experience for all to ensure this privilege remains.

Where can people watch and cheer on the runners?
Spectators are encouraged to cheer along the Mill Creek Parkway, which comprises the last ¾ mile of the run.

Where is Lost and Found?
There will be a Lost and Found located at the Registration Desk at Packet Pickup on Friday and at the Awards area on Saturday.

I never got a confirmation email after registering.
Please check for yourself on the Registration Search. Security settings on your email may be blocking or redirecting race mail to your junk folder. Be sure to check for correspondence from us in your junk mail folder and at all email addresses you use before contacting us on this matter. Please let us know if your email or physical address changes, as that is how we stay in touch with race registrants.

What should I wear?
The weather is variable and can range from warm and sunny to cold and snowy. Check the local weather forecast and dress accordingly.

What is a gear bag / how does gear transport work?
All those warm layers you wore for the wait before the race start will go into your gear bag (the bag you got at packet pickup) which you then need to put into the bag truck before it departs from the start. Volunteers will sort all the bags at the finish by bib number during the race, so you can pick up your items at the finish after you’re done.
